IN PROCESS: You’ve been asking for a longer time now what the individual members of Guano Apes are doing at the moment since they enjoy their creative break after a really strenuous year. And so I tried to get in contact with each and every one of them in order to know what’s going on.

Sandra is collaborating with the SISTARS project which is about supporting young female musicians. She lets them know her experiences and she will be holding a few coaching seminars.
At the moment, she is more on the road than she used to be because now she has finally got the time for that. And she takes every opportunity to watch new and exciting bands.

Dennis is currently renovating and rebuilding his apartment. During the tour, he was living on a sort of construction site, and now he has finally found the time to put an end to it.

Henning is teaming up with different juries and coachings at the moment, e.g. for the f6 Award and the John Lennon Talent Award in Germany.
As well as doing different workshops for presentation and bands, he is hosting a course for guitar at the Pop Academy in Mannheim on 16th December.

Stefan will be going round the world in January til March. New Zealand and California are on the agenda. He intends to be away at least until next year’s summer, and so we will hardly hear from him till then.

Well then, now you’ve got your Guano Apes update!

And I have designed a Single Compilation Box for GUN featuring all Guano Apes singles and maxis released to date. I’ll call it „The Red Box“, and it’s a great thing for every hardcore collector. It consists of a cardboard slipcase containing all 11 singles, and as a present, it really is a precious thing. Everyone who have been holding the box in their hands were enthusiastic about it. Get somebody to show it to you in case you see it anywhere ... it was so much fun designing the thing, and when I was working on all the old design data (since 1996) I more than once had a „déjà vu“ ...

Oct. 2003: Brrr... our European tour with all its 'ups and downs' is coming to an end. Travelling across Europe was really an experience, and we would like to thank you very much for your support. After ten years of band history, our first live album ever, together with a DVD, will see the light of day by the end of October.
Friedel, our designer, is currently poring over the photo archives, choosing the most thrilling live photos together with our photographer Dirk Schelpmeier. And – if we know our Friedel at all – the cover and the booklet will perfectly transport the mood that is contained on the album. And most of you know it by now – these tracks were recorded at the Palladium in Cologne on 2nd May. Right here, right now, you can already have a look at some cover sketches, let’s just wait and see which design will take the lead in the end!

When we tried to compile all our shows we’ve ever played (and I can’t remember them all for the life of me) for the new live CD/DVD we were really astonished that we have already seen 10 summers. It’s simply incredible how fast time goes by – and how many of you have ever seen us live on stage?!? On 28th November 1993, we played our first gig at the Palaver Hall in Bad Gandersheim – at that time without Sandra – and now, almost ten years later, we are going to play our last show in Ternat/Belgium on 11th October 2003 – i.e. for some time to come.

Next year, we are all going to concentrate on solo projects. Sandra has been thinking about her solo career for a longer time now and hopes she can finally realize it, and we boys, too, are working on solo projects in the meantime. This year, I took part in the Grönemeyer album and in Mila Mar, and at the moment, I’m being involved in some other projects which I would like to give a push in the near future.

But right now, I’m off for three weeks – I’m going on holiday but, of course, I’ll be back in time for the concert.

You will find more information about the live CD very soon. The album is due out on 20th October 2003 as Audio CD and double-box Audio CD including a concert DVD in 5.1 Surround Sound.

April 2003: It's unbelievable: "Your new album is soooo cool. not only that all, and I mean A-L-L the songs are incredible, but the linen artwork is just genius. I ask myself: can anyone make you guys any more perfect? NO, Guano Apes are top of the heep..." writes TekkenX in our Guestbook and he's only one of more than 80.000 Visitors that have been on our Website since the release of our latest album "Walking on a thin line" on Feb. 3rd.

Thanks for all your compliments and best wishes - and now it's official: "Walking on a thin line" will hit the official German Album Charts straight on #1 this week!!! That's just mad,... truly unbelievable! And it's even repeating the success we had with "Don't give me names" almost three years ago!

Thinking back at the times in the studio while we were recording the album and working on songs over and over again until they're as good as we want them to be for us and for you... and now this overwhelming success and all your great feedback, it simply makes life worthwhile! We are very happy about the numerous entries in our Guestbook giving us enthusiastic reviews of the album almost minute by minute - it's just incredible!!

We'd like to extend our best wishes and biggest Thank You's to all of you out there as this success is only possible because of our fans!

We are eager to start touring next month and are very happy to see you all on tour and meet your greatest expectations!!!

The album entered the charts on #8 in Switzerland, #9 in Finland, #18 in the Netherlands and #28 in Italy, in Portugal # 9 in the album charts and "You Can't Stop Me" #2 in the single charts. Thank you very, very much!

Feb. 2003: Ladies and Gentleman,
we are proud to announce the european release of our new album "Walking on a
thin line"!

Try and grab one of the limited "book-a-like" linen-bound edition with 24 pages full colour, 2 previously unreleased Bonus-Traxx and multimedia-part with special internet access.

It took a long time to write, record and produce the songs and we have all
been waiting for the release date with enormous excitement.
We are very very sastisfied with this album and think it's definitely
another step in the musical journey of the Guano Apes.
It's been a long way since the beginning of the band in '94 and we'd like to
say a big thank you to all the fans out there for supporting us and taking
part in this journey!

We 'd also like to give a big hand to Friedel for many many hours of nightshift in the past weeks and months, creating a great album artwork and overhauling the website for it's relaunch.

Now it's up to you again! We are eager to find out what you all think of the new songs, so please make extensive use of the guestbook!

A big hello to all of you!

We are back from Mocow and already on the Spark7-Festival Tour through
lovely Austria before we will be going north again for the Beach Rock Festival in Estonia on Thursday.

What can I say...! The last shows have been extremely exciting for us and
especially Moscow was a tremendous experience for all of us! I will try to put it in words...

We were playing in front of 30-40.000 people in the middle of Moscow on a huge free space in rain and windy weather. But the crowd warmed us up quickly and celebrated Sandra's birthday with us.

The big climax finally was a double rainbow right over the place! Well, this time we tried to film as much as possible, to be able and create a special page for that "Moscow-Incident"!

It was definitely a very special feeling being in Russia, when we once again realized what we have been able to do with the power of our music... We did a big Press Conference, MTV Russia and Radio Ultra, some of those with interpreter's help. Also a new experience for us.

Unfortunately we only had little time on the last day to visit the city, and still everybody is impressed of Moscow and its people! So after all, we would like to express our deepest thank you's to all our russian fans for making this a wonderful trip! We are already thinking of coming back and doing shows in both, Moscow and St. Petersburg next year.

That's it for now, we will be looking through the Film footage and try to create a special page fo some more infos on this.

It's been a great time in Stockholm and a weird Aftershowparty but now that we're all well again we are going to Spain, then it's the MTV Club Gigs in Germany and before Christmas it's going to be the UK-Kerrang Tour. Hope to see you all somewhere!

Hi US-Folks!

We are very sorry to make the announcement that the release of the "Don't give me names"-album is not going to happen in the States. Unfortunately we ran into some trouble with our partners in the US record company (Business, you know...) and the release was cancelled shortly before the scheduled date.

We are currently eagerly in search for new partners to realize the our releases as soon as possible and hope to get some real support to be able and come over and promote it.

As for now, we'd like to extend our biggest "sorry!" for this misery to all of you waiting!
Let's hope together for a new partner and a appropiate chance to make our way to the states again!
